HREA CDC Homeownership Matters Campaign
- Focuses on the sustainability of Homeownership through Education, Community Revitalization and Development, and Enhanced Community Resources.
- HREA CDC will incorporate a series of Home Ownership Empowerment and Financial Information Improvement workshops, forums, seminars, financial fairs, educational classes, in Communities around the Greater Houston Area.
- Homeownership Education Matters and is proven effective by the lower default and foreclosure rates of first time homeowners that completed Certified Home Buyer Education Programs versus those that did not.
- Homeownership Education includes information needed before, during, and after acquiring property. From financial planning, to Down Payment Assistance Programs, to HOA’s, to maintenance, Assessed values, to Wills and other transfers, to effect on Neighborhoods, loan products, home warranties, school districts, property taxing entities, IRS tax consequences, just to mention a few.
